TANNI BOSE

TANNI BOSE

LIVE IN ME FOREVER…………

A puff of caring wind
Addressed my solitary door
I unbolted –
Permitted it to cross the threshold
To reach the soft chamber of my soul
The address of my existence
My heart-
My customary warm heart was cold since ages
The wind fanned the glowing splinter
Breathed life to it
The splinter in my soul, nurtured
With its flame my heart grew warm
Warmth of my heart
Paved way for my solitary existence
I was bathed and fragranced in happiness
Time flew-
Each day was like a new bride with expectation
Promises made and rewarded
Days progressed with new dream
Beads of absolute happiness garlanded me
This is what the sages seek for!
And I was an entity to it
The wind was affectionately warm in winter
Adorably cool in summer
Moistened me, when I was desiccated with fever
Dried me, when I was drenched in sorrow
The wind was God’s messenger
Approached me with a promise made
And fulfilled everyday
Black adversities in life
were blown off by the wind
Flames of sorrow was extinguished
Uneasiness of suffocation was tenderly eased
It has made a pledge to me
To nurture me with special flavor
Promised me to escort with protection
To steer me towards resurrection
Oh !wind , I pray you
With a humble heart
Be in me, live in me forever

LOVE ACROSS THE SALINE DESERT

Bare foot I walk, miles and miles
Frozen to the core with thoughts hardened as ice

Summer, spring, autumn and winter
Bore stagnancy on the sandy nature

Clothed with the fragile beauty within
I embrace love in your deep eyes of mysticism

Songs at your ebb and flow
Commands my soul to sail and follow

The glassy sand has battered my ravaged feet
On the horizon I look for holy retreat

In your embrace I feel the warmth
Your heart is my hearth in the hostile month

I tread and pace across barren heart of earth
Your voice echo-
‘My sweet love you are my escort across the saline dessert”.

IF TRUTH BE TOLD ………

A long waiting for the heart to believe
A pleasure to be evident that I am living
Amidst the lifeless being ………………
It was an encounter which turned to enterprise
A stone that I stumbled upon
Became the corner stone.
Occasional meetings became regular in the garden of mind
The missing soul started to live again
The mind cherished lost values
Out shined time, dared to confront fate
The warmth was felt if not touched
But the heart crossed oceans with expectation.
Days were no more, dead
I loved “love” beyond everything
I dreamt of a world beyond time
All practicality breathed last
I slain doubts questioning my love.
I was embalmed in memories……………………
I sought after love, to get a name
A name to treasure and feel
It was a challenging thought lest I lose him
But a sinking heart dares for the worst
I placed my heart on the palm of love
Waited with hopeless hope
Prayed in solitude.
There was a response -
A leaf blew in the wind
Sheltered on the thorns of the proud rose
Only to bleed in pain……………….
I felt the breath turning cold
I was silent not that I lost words
But that I lost emotions.
I am here but far
I dreamt of soil, of earth, of touch, of love
I was slain, I was left
They say death is a passage to rebirth
But I am un dead-
I was not even privileged to die
Die, with your hands on my palms
Die, blanketed with the warmth of your breath
Death would be a better choice
But life left me homeless……….
On the heart’s command I speak
If truth be told ………………..
It is me and only me………………….

Mrs. TANNI BOSE works as an educator in Aravali International School, Faridabad now. She was an English Teacher at Tendruk Higher Secondary School of the Royal Government of Bhutan hails from Kolkata, West Bengal. She was born and brought up in the steel city of Rourkela, since her father was a SAIL employee there. Writing was always a passion for Mrs. Tanni. However, 2008 became a defining year in her life since she could publish a few of her works in the school magazine and made a self-discovery that she was indeed in romance with literature. It formally bloomed in 2012 when her first anthology “Dawn and Dusk” was published. Her readers, including critics confessed that a new breeze in poetry writing is here to blow to soothe and to ruffle too, of course. Her passion for reading and writing assured her a berth in the Writers Association of Bhutan and the Edu Talk where she thinks aloud to make the readers ponder, delight and at times wrinkle their brows. Her writing in facebook and her blog “A Grain of Faith” are being followed by many. Her articles in “Student Digest and Norzam Speaks” both publications in Bhutan are well taken by readers at large. She also contributes regularly in the international journal by Ciberwitnet.com “TajMahal Review” She has represented Bhutan as an official delegate in the SAARC Literary festivals in Thimphu, Bhutan in 2013. She was a delegate in the FOSWAL Literary Festivals at Agra and Jaipur in 2015   At Delhi in 2016 February, and  Jaipur in October 2016  as well. “Floating Stones” is her second work of poems, ringing the inescapable paradox of existential pulls and pushes. The poetess here is swayed by multiple senses and sensibilities, reflected in these poems. Her third Book “The Molested Clay” is published by Authors Press. Her upcoming novel and poetry book is ready to publish. Writing apart, Mrs. Bose loves reading, music and her students. Love given reciprocates. After all – books support her; music heals her aches and her students adore her. Life then becomes poetry to her.
